This is a step by step guide to login automatically into KDE
(assuming logged in as root)
... Click on the K Menu (Applications, tasks amd Desktop sessions) (windows equivalent of 'start menu')
... Click 'Control Center'
... Select 'Login Manager' in 'System Administration'
... Select 'Conveniennce' (Alt + i)
... 'Check' Enable Auto-Login (Alt + t and 'space' (to select))
... Select the user in the drop down box
... 'Apply' the settings (Alt + a)
... Restart to see auto-login working [ :) ]
PS: Inspired after seeing 'How to log into Gnome automatically' rise to top on digg
working on enabling 'root' to auto-login....
